    Team: So.Cal.Ballerz SAN FERNANDO VALLEY
« In 2010 won USSSA first ever 7U World Series. There, losing first game of tournament, we were thrown in to losers bracket. We arrived to championship to face the opponent that gave us our only loss. Having burned pitched 18 inning to their 6 of ace pitchers pitchers, we knew we still had the edge being we were deeper in quality pitchers because every one out team pitched. Because of this we won the first game, and took it to an elimination championship. Now, being 2011 we are the 8u team to beat. With it not being an easy feet, we continuously work on our game and aim to repeat on top of our age bracket. »

    Team: Hollister Headhunters HOLLISTER
« We entered the travel ball scene relatively late compared to most teams nowadays. All of our players play in the same Little League in Hollister, CA. We honestly wanted our kids to get more experience to make our Little League All-Star team better for the future. I cannot say enough about how far this team has come in the past year. Entering the scene in early September of 2009 and playing into the beginning of November 2010, with a break during little league in 2010, we played in 13 tournaments, winning 5 Championships, 2 Runner-ups, ranked 3rd by least runs allowed tiebreakers 3 times, and finished our last two tournaments as 11U before taking a break, playing in the 12U division, losing in 4 overtimes in the semi-finals and going 2-0 and getting the number one seed before being rained out in our final tournament of the year. During this span our overall team record was 41-7. To top it off 8 of our 12 players, because our little league is divided into two leagues, went on to play in the state finals of the 9-10 little league all-stars in Chico, Ca. This was the last possible game for this age group and lost in the final game after losing early and having to play 7 consecutive days to a good San Ramon, CA team. To think this team in just over one year went from being a AA Division team in USSSA, to being placed in the Major Division of USSSA, and finally asked to play in the 12U division of USSSA as 11U our final two tournaments is truly amazing considering where we started and the small talent pool we chose from. Now all that being said, we played tournaments in Las Vegas, Arizona and Santa Maria, but the rest of our tournaments were played in the Northern California region and from past experience, I know how tough the Southern California teams can be, but it's still quite an accomplishment for these young men. We won because of their dedication to getting better and because they played great team baseball without any real superstars or ego's. What they lacked in talent at times, they made up for by playing hard for each other, doing all the little things, and leaving their hearts on the field every time they played. I know as a coach on this team, I couldn't be more proud of a group of young men then I am for all that played the past year on this team. My hat goes off to David Marquez, the manager of this team, who cares so much for each of these boys, and who really wants them all to be just good young men at home, in school and on the field. Great job Headhunters! Keep working hard. »
