    Team: White Sox MCKINNEY
« The White Sox are all about team chemistry and putting baseball into the proper perspective. We are a recreational team with a competitive spirit, and believe in the basic principals of youth sports. It's about growth in baseball skills, as well as life in general. It's a balance of discipline and young kids having fun playing a game. It's about sportsmanship and an extended family of parents all believing in and supporting a common cause. It's about the White Sox, or as the boys so affectionate call themselves, The Mighty, Mighty White Sox. The core group of kids has been together for several seasons now, but with moving up from a Machine Pitch format to our first season of Kid Pitch, we had some changes in the roster and it was important to assure we built and kept that same team chemistry. We started early with practices to get the kids ready and build the 'team' again. So how did they do? Right out of the gate they won the pre-season tournament. And it wasn't easy, they were the #3 seed starting out on Sunday so they had to win three games in a row and were short-handed by two key players. Their hard work and preparation paid off and it was apparent that we had built the team chemistry again. The rest of the season was nothing short of miraculous. They kept winning and winning, sometimes jumping out ahead early and others having to come from behind, showing their will and determination. They showed us all that they are warriors and have developed into some pretty good baseball players. But most of all they showed us that they truly love the game of baseball and had the time of their lives. We finished with a perfect 17-0 season and two first place trophies. It was truly a team effort with contribution from all the players. Throughout the season we used 10 pitchers and worked hard to develop all of our players and give them the opportunities they worked hard for and deserved. In sports of all levels it is important to have a competitive sprit and we do play to win. However, what we proved more than anything, this season especially, is that winning is the outcome not the action. If you do all the little things right and keep things into perspective and remember that these are young kids playing a game, good things eventually happen. Congratulations to the White Sox players, coaches and extended family for you have all been instrumental in making this a very special team and miraculous season. »
